Greetings! It’s been a few months since you’ve seen much regular writing from me. I took a little break after five years of writing my Faith & Family Business newsletter to work on some other projects. Here are a few of those: My latest book was published in May. Faith and Family Business: What Jacob, Gideon, Samson, and David Offer Families Who Work Together is available on Amazon in hardcover, paperback, and Kindle. It features 100 of my newsletter posts reframed as daily devotionals, and also includes my Blessings for the Family Business. (My other two books are also on Amazon.) I’m hosting two workshops this fall in Kansas City.
Both workshops are highly interactive, which is why I’m limiting attendance. If you are interested in either workshop, please let me know by clicking the relevant link below, and I’ll send you a working agenda and pricing in the coming days. And rest assured, Kansas City BBQ will be included in both!
A few other activities and resources... I spoke about family business succession and growth this past winter at Texas A&M's Executive Program for Agriculture Producers, at Crop Quest's Grower Focus conference, and at KSU's Office of Farm and Ranch Transition conferences. I also recorded "Farm Succession Planning Explained" on John Deere’s On Life and Land podcast, and joined a webinar with Fractal Agriculture. This fall I'll be speaking at events from Florida to Montana; if you are looking for a keynote speaker for an event, please get in touch. I'd love to help. I wrote about family business success in The Progressive Farmer magazine, including:
There is also my Succession Challenge, a 21-day reflection on your family business transition delivered each morning to your inbox. Finally, if you are looking for a good book to read (or listen to) or to give as a gift, I highly recommend Jim Collins’ new book, What to Make of a Life: Cliffs, Fog, Fire, and the Self-Knowledge Imperative. It’s relevant to everyone, but especially those entering their next chapter of life and thinking about legacy and impact. I hope this mid-point in the summer finds you well. Thanks for your continued support. Lance |

The Succession Challenge™ is a daily email, for three weeks, with a key question and a few words of encouragement designed to help you make progress on your succession planning efforts. Each email tackles an aspect of the ownership transition, management handoff, or the personal or relational components of the business succession process. The challenge is just 21 days, and the goal is to help you think more deeply about your planning efforts. It's quick, concise, and lasts less than a month,...
